How Available is Mortgage Credit?

It’s true that getting a mortgage is easier today than it was right after the housing crash.  This easing of credit availability has led some to question if we are headed for another housing crisis. Time to put things in perspective

Mortgage Credit Availability Over the Past 3 Years

A report by the Mortgage Bankers Association he Mortgage Credit Availability Index, shows an increase in mortgage credit availability.  

However, going back to 2006, it shows a different story.

Mortgage credit is easing, however, we are nowhere near the availability standards that caused the housing crash of last decade.
