Real Estate Since 2008
Many people are talking about where home values are headed. I think it’s also interesting to look back to compare values prior to the housing crisis.
Every quarter, Freddie Mac releases their House Price Index. The index typically provides monthly home values for the country, by state and by 367 metropolitan areas.
This quarter, the report also included a look at today’s home values as compared to Pre-2008 values. Take a look at this map to see how your state did.
Real Estate Bottom Line
While states such as Colorado, Texas and North Dakota have seen 30% plus appreciation since 2008, many states are still at or below the 2008 peak.
